The Dialysis Outcomes and Practice
Study is a national, 5-year longitudinal study of
treatment and outcomes for hemodialysis patients. The University of
Michigan is conducting the study with support from Amgen. A random
sample of 30 patients per dialysis facility in the US (160 facilities,
4800 patients), Europe (100 facilities, 3000 patients; France, Germany,
Italy, Spain, UK), and Japan (60 facilities, 1800 patients) are being
asked to participate in the study. KDQOL-SF surveys are completed at
baseline and annually thereafter.
